Measuring hand movements

This has been tricky, but some new technology I have seen this week looks very exciting.

My plan is to devise a project to measure hand movements in musicians before and after intervention using this software.

Intervention can mean hand therapy, technique pedagogy, steroid injections or surgery.

We need to establish some normal patterns and understand the data better. I am also aware it would be easy to have too much data…

A nice example would be to look at, say, the softness of landing of the fingers, or the movements at the elbow or shoulder when playing piano. Or the range of wrist flexion when playing guitar. Or degree of forearm pronation when drumming.
